About Me

My name is Sheryl and I am a 30 something animal lover and vegetarian living in South East London and making a slow journey to the world of veganism. My love for animals stems from my dad and the sanctuaries and farms I visited as a child growing up in Devon. I have vivid memories of us sitting down together of a Sunday evening and enjoying a good David Attenborough documentary. I grew up watching programmes like 'The Really Wild Show' with the likes of Chris Packham who has remained a source of inspiration to me over the years. Since then I have been lucky enough to meet him on set of a 'Spring Watch' special about 5 years ago.
I became vegetarian about six years ago while studying a national diploma in Animal management. It opened my eyes to the disturbing goings on in the farming industry and what happens to meat before it gets sold in the supermarkets. I also learnt a lot about other animal related issues such as cruel sports, poaching, unnecessary culling and animal testing.

What brings me here:
I have always loved writing and sharing things with people. I have been blogging on and off for years and for various reasons. Now I have started a new chapter in my life by attempting to follow a healthier and even more compassionate lifestyle, I felt that I needed to connect with like minded people and share stories in the hope to gain more knowledge and insight. What better way to do this, than to start a blog.

Things you can expect to find on my blog:
I believe that animals shouldn't be suffering for our own gain or pleasure therefore I try to be careful when choosing my toiletries and cosmetics. I will not blog about products that are tested on animals, that contain animal derived ingredients and have a parent company that has not been certified as cruelty free. You can join me on my journey as I explore vegan food related products, places and events and experience my joys and frustrations.
